After relocating to northern New York, I discovered the joys of Adirondack lake swimming and through travels the exhilaration of ocean swimming and snorkeling. My father, a true landlubber, loved golf, but deferred playing when my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Hospice volunteers assisted my parents with the process of facing the inevitable outcome. Our family is eternally grateful for this assistance. The Swim a Mile for Hospice fundraising event is a perfect tribute for my parents."

Postwood Park was a great place to cook, swim and enjoy. The Park erupted that day in a great celebration that went all day there and in Potsdam. Py parents later died of cancer and my mom received Hospice Services in Washington County while living in Greenwich. I spent time at Postwood swimming at the beach and studying for a master's at St. Lawrence. Then I did the triathlon there in my late fifties.
